Julius Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967)
Oppenheimer was an American physicist, and is often described as the father of the atomic bomb.
He was the senior scientist on the Manhattan Project which developed the atom bombs dropped on japan at the end of the World War II.
After the War, Oppenheimer argued for the peaceful use of nuclear power.
He continued working as a physicist and did important work on black holes.
