Henry Cavendish (1731-1810)


Cavendish who was both a chemist and a physicist.
He is most famous for his work on the composition of air.
Cavendish discovered the properties of hydrogen, and showed that air was a mixture of more than one gas.
He was also the first to show that water is in fact a compound, and not an element.
