Joseph Henry (1797-1878)

The United States physicist Joseph Henry was one of the earliest pioneers of electricity.
He discovered electromagnetic induction (the unit of inductance, the Henry, is named after him) and invented an electric telegraph.
Henry Was appointed as the first director of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.
